Remark! is a Deaf led organisation and as soon as you enter the building you are immersed in Deaf culture as the majority of staff are Deaf BSL users, who you’ll usually get a chance to meet. We are not a huge college with a couple of BSL courses on the side, BSL is our speciality and focus so you can be sure that you are learning with experts in BSL teaching.
We won’t leave you in the lurch to struggle through your portfolio collation, you will have the full support of your assessor and our team administrators are contactable Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Remark! Access are the leaders in BSL NVQ training and this is one of our most popular courses. We have small, intimate classes, focussed on the student. 4 one to one tutorials are allocated to each student after the initial induction days to really give our full support and even provide a bound and indexed portfolio.
Aims
To continue to develop communication skills in British Sign Language. To successfully achieve the NVQ Level 3 in British Sign Language qualification.
Assessment
Portfolios will be submitted to Remark! Access to be checked and marked by our assessors. The Internal Verifier (IV) will then check the assessor’s decisions. The External Verifier (EV) will sample candidate’s portfolios to ensure that the portfolios meet the National Language Standards before successful candidates are awarded the NVQ qualification.
Entry Requirements/Interviews
Candidates must possess Signature/CACDP Level 2 BSL and at least 1 years experience mixing within a deaf environment and/or attended Pre-Level 3 or similar language development training.
Students will be formally assessed to determine their ability to meet the required specifications for this course. Interviews are charged at £25 and last approximately 30 minutes. Written feedback will be given, together with recommendations for advancement.
